Women and Family Justice Program Coordinator

The Honouring Our Families: Women and Family Justice Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering culturally grounded, trauma-informed programming that supports the safety, healing, wellbeing and empowerment of Indigenous women, girls, children, youth, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse individuals, and families.
The program recognizes the ongoing impacts of colonization, residential schools, intergenerational trauma, systemic discrimination, gender-based violence and barriers to accessing culturally safe services. Through a holistic, strengths-based approach, the coordinator will create opportunities for participants to strengthen cultural identity, build supportive relationships, increase personal and community safety, and access meaningful wellness supports.
The position has a particular focus on women's wellness and empowerment, gender-based violence prevention and awareness, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse wellness, family strengthening, cultural healing and intergenerational connection.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate and deliver culturally grounded wellness, healing, family strengthening and community safety programming.
Establish regular programming specifically focused on Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse participants.
Coordinate sharing circles, cultural workshops, land-based activities, wellness groups and community gatherings.
Develop program schedules, workplans and activities responsive to participant needs and identified community priorities.
Coordinate Elders, Knowledge Keepers, facilitators and community partners.
Ensure programming is accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed and culturally safe.
Coordinate program supplies, transportation, venues and other logistical requirements.
Monitor program expenditures within approved budgets.
Collect participant feedback and adjust programming to respond to emerging needs.
