Opportunity

A prominent financial institution is seeking a skilled Treasury Management System Implementation Analyst to facilitate the transition from an on-premises Treasury Management System to a third-party SaaS platform.

The organization is embarking on a significant treasury transformation program focused on investments, debt, liquidity, risk management, hedging, and treasury accounting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive treasury-domain knowledge along with robust business analysis, data analysis, systems integration, reporting, and testing experience.

This role requires strong collaboration with Treasury, Risk, Accounting, Technology, software vendors, and implementation partners. The consultant will ensure that proposed designs, configurations, data models, integrations, and reporting solutions align with business requirements and adhere to sound treasury practices.

• Expected end date: October 31, 2027
• Work arrangement: Remote
• Working hours: Ottawa business hours
• Travel: Occasional travel to Ottawa may be required
• Language: English required; French is an asset

Key Responsibilities

TMS Implementation and Treasury Advisory

• Facilitate the transition from the current on-premises Treasury Management System to a third-party SaaS TMS.
• Provide subject-matter expertise in investments, debt, liquidity, risk management, hedging, and treasury accounting.
• Translate complex treasury business needs into clear functional, data, reporting, integration, and testing requirements.
• Advise the project team on treasury processes, financial instruments, controls, data, and reporting requirements.
• Independently assess and challenge solution designs, configurations, data models, reporting approaches, and implementation recommendations.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with business requirements, financial controls, and leading treasury practices.
• Collaborate effectively with Treasury, Risk, Accounting, Technology, vendors, and systems-integration partners.

Business, Data, and Reporting Analysis

• Gather, analyze, document, communicate, and negotiate business and system requirements.
• Support future-state process and solution-design activities.
• Analyze treasury data and reporting requirements for future business operations.
• Assist with the design, development, and validation of treasury reports.
• Monitor delivery activities related to report development, data integration, testing, and user acceptance.
• Identify data-quality, mapping, reconciliation, and reporting issues and help coordinate their resolution.
• Contribute to user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer for new treasury reporting solutions.

Integration, Testing, and Quality Assurance

• Support system-to-system integration between the TMS and interfacing finance and enterprise systems.
• Participate in integration testing, user acceptance testing, data validation, and reconciliation.
• Help identify and resolve defects, data-quality problems, and integration issues.
• Support transition, cutover, and implementation-readiness activities.
• Confirm that implemented functionality and reports satisfy documented business requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Experience in at least one Treasury Management System implementation involving treasury accounting, investments, debt, liquidity, or risk management.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting or providing consulting services to treasury functions in financial institutions.
• Experience in complex treasury environments, such as banks or government financial institutions.
• Strong treasury-domain knowledge, including familiarity with treasury processes, terminology, financial instruments, controls, data, and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in business analysis and data analysis.
• Experience with finance-system integrations and system-to-system data flows.
• Proficient in requirements gathering, solution design, testing, validation, reconciliation, and implementation activities.
• Ability to analyze, document, communicate, and negotiate requirements and design details effectively.
• Strong stakeholder-management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering a medium- or large-scale TMS implementation through completion.
• At least six months of direct involvement in a completed TMS implementation.
• Experience with implementations spanning multiple business lines, technologies, integrations, and external stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience in investments, debt, liquidity, risk management, hedging, and treasury accounting.
• Experience assessing or challenging designs proposed by software vendors and systems integrators.
• Experience with treasury reporting, data migration, data validation, and financial reconciliation.
• Experience preparing training materials and transferring knowledge to business users.
• Experience with FIS Integrity, Payment Hub, and ECHOS.
• Proficiency in French is a plus.

They are comfortable constructively challenging vendors and implementation partners, explaining complex issues to both business and technical audiences, and taking ownership of analysis and quality throughout the implementation lifecycle.
