Concrete Finisher

The City of Prince Albert is accepting applications for the Seasonal Bid casual position of Concrete Finisher in the Public Works Department. An employee in this position is involved in the construction and maintenance tasks relating to the preparing and finishing of concrete.

Required Qualifications:
-Grade 12.
-Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers Licence.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Float, trowel, groove, edge, broom and roll freshly laid concrete.
Responsible for site preparation.
Install and repair paving stones.
Maintenance of existing concrete surfaces.
Places expansion joints, reinforcing wire and the use of curing agent as required.
Responsible for framing, base and reinforcing requirements for the job and the removal of the frame when completed.
May be required to perform other general maintenance duties.
Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
Follow the Act, Regulations and policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and materials used in construction, maintenance and repair operations of concrete construction.
Considerable skill in the use of hand tools, equipment and materials used in concrete finishing construction, maintenance and repair work.
Considerable skill in the performance of finishing concrete work.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to deal effectively with the public and co-workers.
Good organizational skills.
