Production Planner

Techo-Bloc designs and manufactures premium hardscape products (pavers, slabs, walls, steps and outdoor living features) that end up in backyards, patios and public spaces across North America. What started as an entrepreneurial bet in Quebec has grown into an 850+ person team with production plants across Canada and the United States, and a proud Canada’s Best Managed Companies award winner.

Our founder, Charles Ciccarello, likes to say: “We didn’t fit the mold, so we made our own.” That mindset still drives how we work: ambitious, hands-on, and always looking for a better way.

Job Description

Do you enjoy turning a complex set of priorities into a plan that just works? Every day brings a new combination of orders, capacity, and materials to balance, and you’ll be the one who brings it all together. If that kind of challenge energizes you, you’ll fit right in.

As our Production Planner, you’ll build and optimize production schedules across our manufacturing sites, making sure the right products are made at the right time. Your planning will directly drive our operational efficiency and keep our customer service levels on target. With strong support and hands-on coaching from our management team, you’ll keep building your skills and expertise, opening the door to many career opportunities at Techo-Bloc.

Why you’ll love this role

• Real impact, fast. Your schedule is what the plant builds tomorrow. No reports that go nowhere.
• A planning challenge worth your degree. Our business is seasonal, with high-volume peaks and many SKUs, colors and textures. You’ll learn more in one season here than in years of routine planning.
• You won’t be learning alone. You’ll be coached day to day by our Planning Manager and colleagues.
• A visible next step. This role is the first step on our planning career path, toward Senior Production Planner and beyond.
• Close to home for the South Shore. No bridge, no downtown commute.

What you’ll do

Build and run the schedule

• Execute and maintain the daily and weekly production schedule for your assigned lines.
• Re-sequence on the fly when reality hits: breakdowns, material shortages, priority changes.
• Create and maintain production orders in our MRP/ERP system, accurately and on time.

Keep an eye on the numbers

• Track plan vs. actual, explain the gaps and report them to the Planning Manager.
• Monitor inventory levels and raise the flag before a stockout happens.
• Follow key KPIs (service level, changeovers, excess inventory, backorder lead time) and understand what drives them.

Be the link between teams

• Work hand in hand with production and procurement every day to make the plan happen.
• Communicate schedule changes quickly and clearly to everyone affected.
• Bring forward ideas to fix the pain points you see day to day. Your fresh eyes are an asset.

Qualifications

What you bring

Must-haves

• A bachelor’s degree or college diploma (DEC) in operations management, industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain or a related field.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or operations. Recent graduates and interns with manufacturing exposure are welcome to apply.
• Intermediate Excel: you’re comfortable with lookups, pivot tables and building a clean schedule.
• A rigorous, organized mind, and the calm to adapt when the plan changes.
• Fluency in French and English, as you’ll work regularly with our colleagues in Ontario and the US

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with an MRP/ERP system (we’ll train you on ours).
• Experience in a manufacturing plant, even through an internship or co-op.
