Lead the charge in innovation with MetalBear as the Vice President of R&D. Shape strategic technical decisions while mentoring an elite engineering team in a remote-first environment. As a key member of MetalBear, you will manage the R&D department composed of Core, Integrations, and Windows teams, guiding the architectural direction of our flagship product, mirrord. Your role involves developing and aligning technical strategy with business objectives, mentoring engineering managers, and fostering a culture of excellence. You will also have a hands-on approach, staying close to technology to ensure the highest standards of engineering are met. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and scale MetalBear’s R&D teams and functions
- Own the technical strategy aligned with product vision
- Mentor engineering managers and foster a culture of excellence
- Guide system design to ensure reliability and scalability
- Build and retain world-class engineering talent
- 8+ years engineering leadership experience
- Proven R&D organization building in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of cloud-native systems or developer tools
- Experience with Rust, C++, or similar systems-level languages
- Thrives in open, remote-first cultures
