Worship Leader

About us

Catch the Fire Mississauga is a non-denominational church. We are part of a global movement called Catch the Fire.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the mission of the Church and is gifted, skilled and experienced in the area of creating worship experiences that provide space for people to encounter God. This person leads with the Worship team, collaborating with the team leaders to develop a worship team, ensuring alignment with our statement of belief

• Location : Catch the fire, Mississauga, ON, Canada
• Position Type : Part-time ( Sundays and special events )
• Hours : 16 - 20 hours a month, with a salary appropriate to experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Worship:

• With the Lead Team/Preaching Team, discern and vision a robust, experiential worship culture that creates space to encounter God
• Help to plan and create special services (Good Friday, Easter, Christmas Eve, etc.)
• Source new artists and music, incorporating a variety of styles and genres
• Vet all lyrics for theological integrity and cultural accessibility
• Create worship experiences beyond Sunday mornings
• Develop and skill-up worship leaders and musicians
• Oversee and schedule Worship

Leadership:

• Collaborate with the Pastor to develop and implement the future direction of the church, ensuring alignment with our Statement on Belief and Practice
• Work with the Team to develop discipleship and transformation opportunities
• Work closely with other ministry leaders and volunteers to support various ministries and church activities
• Supervise staff as required

Expectations:

• Being a baptized follower of Jesus demonstrates the integrity and lifestyle of such a claim
• Having a strong commitment to and alignment with Catch the Fire Mississauga Church
• Attending Leadership meetings
• Living in such a way that upholds the reputation of Jesus
• Exercising discernment and caution on social media, recognizing that one represents Catch the fire Mississauga Church

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in pastoral ministry, with a strong background in worship and music leadership
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as an equal in a Lead Team environment.

Assets:

• Ability to communicate (teach/preach) in a dynamic, culturally relevant and theologically informed manner, mindful of a dual audience of both churched and unchurched people
• Experience engaging with the community beyond the church, collaborating with other churches and organizations to leverage resources and bless the city
