Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our long-term care home. The ideal candidate has experience in food preparation and food safety and is committed to providing nutritious, high-quality meals. This role is essential to ensuring residents receive meals that meet their dietary needs and prescribed food textures. Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare and cook meals according to residents' dietary needs and care plans.
-Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
-Assist with meal preparation, including ingredient preparation.
-Work with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal and snack service.
-Monitor inventory and assist with supply orders.
-Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
-Support the training of new kitchen staff. Qualifications:
-Previous cooking experience in a long-term care, healthcare, or similar food service environment preferred.
-Knowledge of food preparation, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations.
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-Passion for cooking and providing quality service. Requirements:
-Currently based in or around the Saskatoon area.
-Minimum 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a long-term care home or healthcare setting.
-Previous experience working in a long-term care home setting is an asset.
-Valid Food Handler Certification (Food Safe, SafeCheck, or equivalent) is an asset.
-Availability to work 12-hour weekend shifts. Benefits:
