Seabee Gold Operation welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences to apply.SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation is hiring for a Cook 2 on night shift.About Your New RoleReporting to the Supervisor, Camp Operations, the Cook 2 (Kitchen Staff 2), will work on night shifts primarily preparing sandwiches. They will also ensure all kitchen dishware, cutler, pots and pans are consistently in a ready state of cleanliness and available as required when used to prepare camp meals.Your Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare sandwiches for lunches.Assist with the production of soup, lunch, supper, and sauces.Taking down the steam line.Proper storage and use of leftover food.Proper use, maintenance, and cleaning of all equipment.Ensuring overall general kitchen cleanliness.Good understanding of recipes/temperature logs.Follow workload/production schedules.Good knowledge of expiration dates/food rotations.Prepare menu, in conjunction with medic and other staff on a weekly basis, always keeping special diets and allergies in mind.Shop for groceries on a weekly basis.Responsible to ensure that grocery costs are kept at a minimum.Ensure that meals and snacks are ready on time.Attend to the dietary needs of any staff who require special diets.Responsible to ensure that Health Standards are being met and liaise with the local Health Inspector when required.Overall operation, maintenance and cleanliness of the camp kitchen on an ongoing basis.Any other duties as assigned by the department.Your Knowledge And SkillsGood time management.Demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required.Ability to lift up to 50lbs.Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.Proactive attitude towards safety is essential.Your Education And ExperienceThe successful candidate will have:3 years professional kitchen experience.Ability to step into Kitchen Staff 3 when required.Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.Red Seal certification preferred.Be in possession of an up-to-date Food Safe Level 1 Certificate and WHMIS Certificate.Line or banquet cooking experience will be considered an asset.Previous related experience working in remote, fly in / fly out camp site would be an asset.About Our Working ConditionsThis position has a schedule of two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off at our remote camp in northern Saskatchewan, working 11-hour days with possibility of unscheduled overtime required on occasion.
