Consultant in Housing Accessibility Standards

Drive meaningful change in housing accessibility with a consultancy role at UN-Habitat in Montreal. Utilize your expertise to develop guidelines and engage partners effectively. We are seeking a Housing Accessibility Standards Specialist to join the UN-Habitat Canada Office as a consultant. This role focuses on preparing the Accessible-Ready Housing Guidance package and facilitating consultations with key stakeholders. You will engage with diverse partners to shape the Accessible-Ready Housing Standard through workshops, policy analysis, and collaborative development. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the Accessible-Ready Housing Guidance package
- Lead partner engagement and consultation processes
- Manage co-creation activities with stakeholders
- Conduct accessibility-focused policy analysis
- Contribute to design of prototypes and checklists
- Proven experience in accessible housing standards
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Background in housing policy or consultancy
- Ability to analyze complex policy issues
- Familiarity with advocacy efforts for persons with disabilities
