An integral part of this work lies with the Digital Design team, a cross-functional team of creative problem-solvers focused on transforming Bentley’s digital experience. Our goal is to ensure that users experience the same level of quality across all touch points, channels, and digital products—delivering a seamless, high-quality experience.
Great design at scale only works if the foundations are solid. As Senior Product Designer, UI & Design Systems, you'll be the person who makes that happen across Bentley's digital experience. This is a craft leadership role – sitting at the intersection of UI quality, design system adoption, and team enablement – and it's one of the most important roles in the team.
You'll work across our buying and post-purchase experience teams as a senior practitioner and coach – raising the bar for UI quality, driving adoption of our design system in day-to-day delivery, and acting as the connective tissue between Digital Design, the central Design Systems team and our Brand team. You won't just know what good looks like – you'll help everyone around you see it too.
Responsibilities:
Help shape the design system strategy for digital: Work closely with the central Design Systems and Brand teams to help define how our design system applies across Bentley's diverse digital portfolio — from products closely aligned to our core component library, through to more expressive, long-form digital experiences. Grounded in atomic design principles and built on MUI as our base kit, you'll help establish clear guidance on when to follow the system closely, when to extend it, and when a more editorial approach is appropriate — so the team makes those calls confidently and consistently.
Own UI quality across the digital experience: Set and champion a high standard for UI craft across Digital Design. Review work, give precise and actionable feedback, and help designers close the gap between good and exceptional — across interaction design, visual hierarchy, component use, motion, and accessibility.
Drive design system adoption at the delivery level: Be the day-to-day champion for design system usage across the team. Work alongside designers to ensure components are applied correctly, consistently, and thoughtfully — and feed back real friction points to the central Design Systems team so the system evolves based on how it's actually being used.
Coach and elevate the team's UI capability: Run critiques, share knowledge, and work hands-on with designers to build stronger UI instincts across the team.
Be the conduit between delivery and the central design system: Build a strong working relationship with the central Design Systems and Brand teams. Represent the needs of the delivery teams in those conversations, advocate for practical system improvements, and bring decisions and updates back to the team in a way that's clear and usable.
Explore and embed AI-enabled efficiencies in UI practice: Actively explore how AI tools can accelerate UI work — from generating design variations and component scaffolding to documentation and QA. Help the team adopt these tools thoughtfully, without compromising craft, consistency, or brand integrity.
Contribute as a senior practitioner: Take on complex UI design challenges yourself when needed — particularly where cross-team consistency, new patterns, or high-visibility work requires a senior hand. Lead by example and bring the same rigor to your own work that you ask of others.
This role is part of a global team, some flexibility in working hours may be required from time to time to support collaboration across time zones. The role requires infrequent travel to Bentley office locations for team meetings, stakeholder collaboration, or company events. This role requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer for extended periods.
Qualifications :
8+ years in Product or UX/UI Design, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional UI craft across complex digital products
Deep expertise in design systems — not just using them, but understanding how to drive adoption, surface friction, and contribute to their evolution
A natural coach and craft leader — you raise the bar around you without creating fear, and you explain the *why* behind every design decision
Strong working knowledge of accessibility standards and how to apply them practically in delivery
Experience working across multiple teams or portfolios simultaneously — you're comfortable influencing without a direct line of authority
Fluency in Figma — including component architecture, auto layout, variables, and prototyping — and confidence with Miro and broader design tooling
Genuine curiosity about how AI is changing UI practice — and the judgment to know where it helps and where it doesn't
Strong communication skills — you can give direct, precise design feedback and translate complex system decisions into plain language for any audience
A practical, collaborative mindset — you understand the realities of delivery and find ways to uphold quality within them, not despite them

Garantir la qualité UI sur l’expérience digitale :
Définir et défendre un haut niveau d’exigence en matière de conception UI au sein du Digital Design. Examiner les travaux, fournir des retours précis et exploitables, et aider les designers à passer d’un bon niveau à un niveau exceptionnel — notamment en matière d’interaction, de hiérarchie visuelle, d’utilisation des composants, de motion et d’accessibilité.
Encourager l’adoption du design system au niveau opérationnel :
Être le référent au quotidien pour l’utilisation du design system au sein de l’équipe. Travailler aux côtés des designers pour s’assurer que les composants sont utilisés correctement, de manière cohérente et réfléchie — et faire remonter les points de friction à l’équipe centrale afin que le système évolue en fonction des usages réels.
Accompagner et faire progresser le niveau UI de l’équipe :
Animer des critiques, partager les connaissances et travailler de manière concrète avec les designers pour renforcer leurs réflexes et compétences UI.
Servir de lien entre les équipes delivery et le design system central :
Construire une relation solide avec les équipes centrales Design Systems et Brand. Représenter les besoins des équipes opérationnelles, défendre des améliorations pragmatiques du système et retransmettre les décisions et évolutions de façon claire et utilisable.
Explorer et intégrer des gains d’efficacité grâce à l’IA dans la pratique UI :
Explorer activement comment les outils d’IA peuvent accélérer le travail UI — de la génération de variations de design et de composants à la documentation et au QA. Aider l’équipe à adopter ces outils avec discernement, sans compromettre la qualité, la cohérence ou l’intégrité de la marque.
Contribuer en tant que praticien senior :
Prendre en charge des défis complexes en design UI lorsque nécessaire — notamment lorsque la cohérence inter-équipes, la création de nouveaux standards ou des projets à forte visibilité exigent une expertise senior. Montrer l’exemple et appliquer la même rigueur à votre travail que celle attendue des autres.
Ce poste fait partie d’une équipe mondiale ; une certaine flexibilité horaire peut être requise afin de favoriser la collaboration entre fuseaux horaires. Des déplacements occasionnels vers les bureaux Bentley peuvent être nécessaires pour des réunions d’équipe, la collaboration avec des parties prenantes ou des événements d’entreprise. Le poste implique de travailler sur ordinateur pendant de longues périodes, en position assise ou debout.
Qualifications :
- Plus de 8 ans d’expérience en Product Design ou UX/UI, avec un portfolio démontrant une excellence en UI sur des produits digitaux complexes
- Expertise approfondie des design systems — au-delà de leur simple utilisation, comprendre comment favoriser leur adoption, identifier les frictions et contribuer à leur évolution
- Capacité naturelle de mentorat et leadership en design — savoir élever le niveau sans instaurer de crainte, et expliquer le pourquoi derrière chaque décision
- Bonne maîtrise des standards d’accessibilité et de leur mise en œuvre concrète
- Expérience du travail sur plusieurs équipes ou portefeuilles simultanément — à l’aise pour influencer sans lien hiérarchique direct
- Maîtrise de Figma — architecture de composants, auto-layout, variables, prototypage — ainsi que Miro et autres outils de design
- Curiosité sincère pour l’impact de l’IA sur la pratique UI, avec discernement sur ses apports et ses limites
- Excellentes compétences en communication — capacité à donner des retours précis et à vulgariser des décisions complexes
- Esprit pratique et collaboratif — compréhension des contraintes de production et capacité à maintenir un haut niveau de qualité malgré celles-ci
