We are seeking a qualified Guidance Counsellor who must possess:

• A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
• Guidance Counselling coursework and practicum, working towards obtaining a Master's of Education Degree in Guidance and Counselling within a three-year period.
• Five years successful teaching experience.
• A strong academic background with thorough knowledge of school programs in a range of grade levels and the ability to access community resources.
• Experience in working collaboratively with staff and support agencies to address the needs of students individually, in groups, and in the classroom.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in the differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

• Training in areas such as Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Threat Assessment, Suicide Prevention, Solution Focused counselling, and motivating reluctant learners, and demonstrated ability to assist with the creation of a safe and healthy environment for students.
• Experience in the philosophy of a multi-age classroom as it relates to curriculum planning and implementation, instructional diversity, and classroom learning environment.

0.500 FTE Countinuous Improvement Coach

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the advancement of student achievement by facilitating the implementation of initiatives supporting the priorities of the Brandon School Division's Continuous Improvement Plan. The primary goals of this position focus on the provision of leadership, facilitation, assistance and support to professional certified staff in the implementation of the school development plan and staff development plan in a manner that aligns with the Continuous Improvement Plan. This position is a key support to School Leaders in their work in support of the Continuous Improvement Plan.

Educational Qualifications:

• A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
• A Master's in Education specializing in Curriculum & Instruction or Special Education is preferred.
• Evidence of study in educational research and statistical analysis at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Demonstrated understanding of school development planning, age appropriate student development, processes and application of education research procedures, the development of strong collegial relationships based on respect and trustworthiness and systems thinking.
• Knowledge or/experience with assessment and evaluation Universal Design for Learning, ICT/Assisted Technology.

Experiential Qualifications:

• A master teacher with a minimum of five (5) years successful classroom experience.
• Skills, knowledge of and/or experience in adult education.
• Demonstrated exemplary practice.
• Demonstrated leadership in curriculum implementation.

Specific duties include:

• Provide professional learning supports which build a school's capacity to persistently and consistently implement targeted best practices (Tier 1 supports).
• Provide assistance and support in the areas of student engagement in learning for a diverse group of multi-age learners.
• Provide assistance and support in the areas of student assessment and school data-collection.
• Provide leadership in the areas of instruction, unit design, integrated learning approaches, rubric development and assessment through professional development and co-planning/co-teaching approaches.
• Facilitate collaborative and learning opportunities in support of Professional Learning Communities within and between schools.
• Liaise with divisional specialists and other professional learning supports within the Division.
