This requisition is used as a catch all for available positions within the Cold Storage Warehouse. Successful applicants will be contacted by phone for pre-screening and an interview.
McCain Foods (Canada), a Division of McCain Foods Limited, has full time permanent openings within the Production Department and Shipping Warehouse (WDC) at their Manitoba potato processing plant, located in Portage la Prairie. The successful candidates should be interested in working within a production or cold storage warehouse environment, be a minimum of 18 years of age and graduated highschool or equivalent. Work schedules consist of 12 hours of work per shift and rotate between day and night shifts.
Requirements:
- Forklift Certificate and demonstrated safe proficiency working with all forklift attachments.
- Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
- Physically capable of performing all required duties:
- Lifting, pulling, pushing, shoveling, climbing and piling of all types of materials as required.
- Work in extreme temperatures, high humidity and dusty conditions.
- Function in a noisy environment and wear hearing protection.
- Work with all required safety equipment.
- Ability to read small print under normal freezer lighting conditions.
- Demonstrated mathematical ability through the successful completion of a written test.
- Demonstrated proficiency working with WMS.
- Satisfactory employment record.
Duties:
- Working under the direction of and reporting to the Shift Supervisor and/or Lead Hand.
- Safely and proficiently operate propane/electric forklifts, pallet jack and skid steer loader.
- Properly place/withdraw product in freezer following procedures to maximize space and follow stock rotation.
- Properly expedite orders.
- Provide help to other areas of distribution as required.
- Accurately relate/maintain all required documentation.
- Perform all duties in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
- Perform housekeeping in work area to established standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
