We are seeking a motivated, tech-savvy Junior Software Developer for a 12-month contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will be responsible for translating technical system specifications into clean, working, and thoroughly tested software applications.

As a key contributor to the development team, you will collaborate with cross-functional IT professionals throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will build user-friendly interfaces, create robust backend integrations, and troubleshoot technical issues during implementation and deployment phases.

Responsibilities
Application Development: Translate technical design specifications into high-quality code, developing detailed programming specifications and compiling data-driven web applications.

Front-End & UI Engineering: Design and build interactive front-end features using clean HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks, ensuring responsive design and cross-device compatibility.

API & Backend Integration: Build, test, and integrate secure RESTful APIs alongside headless content management systems and identity verification tools.

Testing & Quality Assurance: Maintain application integrity by writing unit tests, debugging front-end components, conducting design walkthroughs, and running page-load optimizations.

Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in structured Agile/Scrum methodologies, leveraging task boards and pipelines to deliver sprint goals on schedule.

Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve complex software issues, provide post-implementation support, and assist with application conversions and deployment migrations.

Documentation & Insights: Gather technical information from diverse business stakeholders to create comprehensive solution documentation, technical specifications, and user manuals.

Qualifications
Core Technical Requirements
Framework Mastery: Proven experience developing web applications using the React framework and TypeScript.

Backend Runtime: Hands-on experience working with Node.js and Next.js for server-side rendering and API routing.

API Development: Solid experience building, testing, and debugging RESTful APIs.

Modern Web Architectures: Practical, working knowledge of Jamstack Architecture, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), and headless content management systems.

Core Front-End Foundations: Expert knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and popular CSS utility frameworks, alongside version control tools like Git.

Methodology & Operational Experience
Agile Frameworks: Solid experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies, including the active use of digital task boards and Kanban setups.

Cloud & Security Ecosystems: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, and building secure authentication integrations (e.g., Azure AD B2C or Okta).

Optimization & Deployment: Strong understanding of web development best practices, including page load optimization, responsive UI frameworks, and pipeline tools.
