Salary range for the position is $130,864 to $188,116. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How Will You Create An Impact

• Providing system-level leadership for the assigned Clinical Network (the Network) to drive quality and enable better and more consistent clinical care for defined clinical services and patient populations across the Health Authority (HA).
• Bringing together clinical and service expertise, organizational priorities, and patient and provider knowledge and experience from within the Network to support data-driven decision making that improves outcomes, fosters innovation, and promotes system-wide learning across the HA.
• Providing clinical expertise and subject area knowledge for the assigned Network across the HA that supports the provision of high quality, consistent, patient-focused care that is integrated across services.
• Working in collaboration with operational leadership, and other organizational portfolios, to identify and set strategic direction; ensure alignment with provincial and organizational priorities; and guide quality patient-focused care.
• Providing leadership, clinical expertise, and support in service planning and implementation to improve, expand, or develop new clinical services.
• Identifying, co-leading, and supporting quality improvement opportunities and initiatives that align with evidence, best practice, policy, and/or strategy that support clinicians and physicians to work safely and provide quality care.
• Identifying, collecting, analyzing, and reporting performance measures that generate knowledge to inform continuous quality improvement, strategy, and operational decision-making.
• Collaborating with cross-sectoral clinical service areas and key enabling portfolios within IH and engaging relevant external partners to improve system integration and system-wide quality.
• Making and informing relevant decisions that impact clinicians, services, and other invested groups working within and external to the HA.
• Providing strategic counsel to senior leaders and, in turn, influencing the goals, objectives, policies, service delivery models, and resource allocation within Interior Health and the province.

What Will You Work On

• Co-leads a collaborative planning process and supports the implementation of HA-wide and/or provincial strategic and service delivery plans for the assigned clinical area based on best practices. This includes researching and developing potential approaches, standards, and work plans; supervising staff; ensuring deliverables are on time/task/budget and aligned with internal and external priorities; and liaising and building working relationships with diverse partners, including content area professionals, medical and operational leadership both locally and regionally.
• Continuously improves, standardizes, eliminates waste, and adds value to assigned clinical services from the perspective of the patient, care providers, and the general public. Identifies and leads innovative quality improvement initiatives, through design, implementation, management, and monitoring, that drives evidence-based, best practice clinical services across the HA.
• Co-leads and/or supports performance measurement and monitoring, and program evaluation for the assigned clinical service area. Develop regular and ad hoc status reports for internal and external audiences. Proactively identifies areas where progress is not meeting targets and works collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop and implement corrective actions.
• Provides information and data to support responses from senior leaders and ensures appropriate interpretation of the information. Coordinates information gathering from both a site, regional, and provincial level to formulate responses within a timely manner.
• Co-chairs, with the Medical Director, Clinical Network, a strategic planning council for the Network that includes clinicians, operations leaders, and other key partners to develop strategy, prioritize work, monitor progress, and communicate across the Network. Creates and sets direction for other working groups as needed.
• Co-leads the strategic communication planning for the assigned Clinical Network to ensure accurate and consistent messaging internal and external to the HA.
• Acts as a liaison, negotiating and engaging with provincial and organizational partners.
• Accountable for successfully leading and achieving accreditation designation requirements relative to the assigned clinical area.
• Serves as the Data Steward for data and information related to the assigned Clinical Network for the HA.
• Recruits, hires, implements performance management, disciplines, and terminates staff within the portfolio as is required to meet portfolio and organization objectives. Leads the development of educational plans, in‑service training, and mentorship to support individual employee professional development and provides talent management and succession planning for the Network team.
• Develops and monitors an annual budget including monitoring budget performance, planning, and adjusting deliverables to meet projections and annual targets; approving expenditures; and fiscal reporting.
• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards, and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations, and implementing required corrective actions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
