Copper Otter Bar & Grill is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team on beautiful Pender Island. We’re an independently owned, year-round restaurant serving elevated comfort food in a busy, welcoming environment.
We’re looking for a strong cook and leader who takes pride in great food, works well with a team, and can help keep the kitchen running smoothly during busy services.
What You’ll Do
- Help lead the kitchen team and oversee service
- Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency and presentation
- Assist with ordering, inventory, prep planning and food-cost control
- Train, mentor and support kitchen staff
- Monitor portioning, product rotation and waste
- Maintain excellent food safety, sanitation and kitchen organization
- Take the lead when the Executive Chef is away
What We’re Looking For
- Sous Chef experience or strong senior line cook experience
- Excellent cooking and organizational skills
- Confident, positive leadership
- Dependable and able to perform well during busy services
- FOODSAFE certification preferred
- Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays as required
What We Offer
- $26.00–$30.00/hour, depending on experience
- Tips in addition to hourly wage
