- Diagnostiquer les maladies et les troubles physiologiques
- Diagnostiquer les troubles psychiatriques
- Peut mener des recherches médicales sur les troubles, les maladies et les méthodes préventives ou curatives chez l'homme
- Prescrire des médicaments et des traitements
- Recommander les patients pour une intervention chirurgicale
- Traiter les maladies et les troubles physiologiques
- Traiter les troubles psychiatriques
- Mener des analyses microscopiques et chimiques à partir de prélèvements et de spécimens
- Rédiger des documents de recherche pour fins de publication et de présentation
- Étudier la nature, la pathogenèse et l'évolution des maladies ainsi que les changements structurels et fonctionnels causés par les maladies
- Superviser les activités de laboratoire
- Exercer des fonctions de consultant auprès d'autres médecins
- Ordonner des épreuves de laboratoire, des rayons x et autres procédures de diagnostic
