We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandoor Chef to join our team at Scanway. As a Tandoor Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality tandoori dishes to our customers. If you have a passion for tandoor cooking and enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes in the tandoor oven, including tandoori chicken, naan bread, kebabs, and other tandoor specialties.
- Manage and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring it is clean, functional, and properly heated at all times.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of food orders.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and redefine tandoor menu items, incorporating new flavors and ideas.
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Manage food costs and minimize waste.
- Oversee the plating and presentation of dishes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef in an Indian restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoor cooking techniques and flavour profiles.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining the tandoor oven, including temperature control and proper cleaning.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification will be an advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
