We are currently looking for someone to complete our Boarding Team. Brookes Westshore strives to support its boarders' academic, social, cultural and personal growth within a safe and inclusive community where boarders experience a sense of welcome, belonging, value and respect. Boarding staff play a key role in the lives of our boarding students.
What we offer:
- Start Date: August 2026
- Room and Board provided as a taxable benefit and as part of employment
- All meals provided on campus as a taxable meal benefit plan (with the exception of school breaks)

- Eligibility to participate in our Employer and Employee paid Extended Health Benefit plan after successful completion of 3-month probationary period
- Close to public transit
- 20 minutes from downtown Victoria
- Walking distance to many hiking trails, beaches, and amenities (Royal Roads University, Charlie's Trail and Colwood Corners Shopping Centre,Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre)
- On the job training and opportunities in other areas of the school along with continued living in the dormitory throughout the summer months
As part of employment as a Live in Dorm Parent we provide room and board as a taxable benefit. It is a beautiful unfurnished 900 square foot 2-bedroom suite with full kitchen, eating area, dishwasher, large living area and ensuite laundry.(This suite is valued at $2500/month). The room and board benefit also includes utilities (wifi, hydro,water).
Compensation: $22,991.86 for the school year September-June (10 months) with additional meal taxable benefit. Please see link for photos of a suite and compensation details.
Education, Experience and Skills- Must complete and successfully pass a Ministry Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment
- Diploma in Education, Child & Youth Care or equivalent an asset
- Leadership experience and experience working in a Boarding School is preferable
- CPR Level C First Aid certification to be obtained within one month of employment
- Experience dealing with people, and in particular, adolescents, sensitively, empathetically, tactfully, consistently and professionally at all times
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities, organize, schedule and solve problems and tasks.
- Class 4 driver's license an asset
