**18 month temporary assignment

The Business Program Manager will be responsible for the delivering projects throughout their entire lifecycle, while maintaining/tying in broader program objectives, goals, and KPIs. The Business Program Manager will be required to navigate through multiple projects and strategic Distribution and Channel Management (D&CM) business programs simultaneously all in support of the broader Retail Advice and Solutions goals.

What will you do?

• Manage all phases of business projects from concept to closure while leveraging Project Management best practice standards and processes
• Effectively balance project focus and execution while tying back to broader program objectives
• Build a working knowledge of D&CM to bring insight, analysis and improvement opportunities to initiatives being managed
• Ensure that end-user and stakeholder considerations are factored into overall project delivery
• Secure sponsor agreement and funding for project direction, scope and solutions
• Create project deliverables that meet/exceed the project sponsor's specified expectations
• Engage project stakeholders and communicate project updates effectively to ensure buy in and project success (examples: meetings, status updates, issue resolution, risk mitigation)
• Provide clear direction and motivation to project team
• Work with multi-site/virtual project teams
• Develop project plans that effectively align scope, time, cost, quality, resources, risk, communication, and procurement in a manner that enables highly coordinated execution and control
• Monitor all project results for significant deviations and ensure development of contingency plans where necessary
• Successfully manage and escalate as required project changes, risks, issues, and actions
• Identify ongoing continuous improvement opportunities, defining and implementing new processes
• Create processes, checklists, sampling strategies, and other enablers for performance enhancement

What do you need to succeed?

• Proven Program Management experience including managing multiple interdependent projects simultaneously ensuring alignment and integration
• Project management experience at a senior level (3+ years)
• Proven experience leading and managing large, complex projects
• Leadership, influencing, and strong facilitation skills to coordinate and direct effective meetings for project teams
• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make recommendations to

management and influence business decisions

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize wide range of tasks
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting client

expectations

• Proven effective relationship skills with demonstrated ability to influence others and achieve buy-in
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) - ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision
• Ability to work with ambiguity and set plans to achieve clarity
• Positive, energetic attitude
• Sound knowledge of project management techniques, tools, and methodologies
• Good problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make recommendations to

management and influence business decisions

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred
• Lean Six Sigma or related training preferred
• University degree or equivalent
• Familiarity with insurance and finance industry
• Project Management Office experience
• Experience mentoring/coaching junior Project Managers is an asset

Notes/Unique Requirements:

• Some travel may be required
• Ability to manage a flexible work schedule and occasionally working outside of regular work hours to meet project deadlines

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
