Summary : DMC is currently looking for a Junior Designer, Mechanical to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, based in our Thunder Bay, Ontario Office . The Junior Designer, Mechanical will be responsible for design work of limited scope and complexity requiring application of prescribed engineering methods under the supervision of a more senior designer or engineer. Accuracy in design and completeness in the presentation of data is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives continued on the job training through support of more senior designers and engineers.
• Determines design criteria for minor structures, systems and equipment items and prepares specifications for same in accordance with manuals.
• Analyses minor engineering problems and prepares sketches for drafting personnel.
• Prepares standard input data for computerized solutions to engineering problems.
• Position is normally based in an engineering office.
• Makes decisions within established guidelines, procedures and practices.
• Works under supervision and duties are assigned with detailed oral and occasionally written instructions as to methods and procedures to be followed.
• Complex designs are checked while work is in progress and all work is checked upon completion.
• Gives occasional guidance to more junior employees assigned to a common task.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Preparation of technical documentation using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit.
• Work and Collaborate with the mechanical team as well as other disciplines.
• Create and review CAD drawings as per project/client requirements.

Qualifications

• A technical college graduation with up to four (4) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of studies and related experience.
• Knowledge of computer applications for engineering design is required.

• Salary Range is expected to be between: $54,600 – $82,150
