Corporate Tax Accountant

Job Responsibility:

We are looking for a Corporate Tax Accountant to join our team full time in Cochrane, AB. We are a small public accounting firm providing full public accounting services to small businesses and individuals primarily in Alberta. As a Corporate Tax Accountant, you will work closely with clients and all levels of team members to develop your technical skills and get immersed in our workflow procedures and standards. As our firm and your skillset grows, there is opportunity for upward movement and continual advancement within the firm.

Responsibilities

· Preform bookkeeping tasks such as posting transactions, making corrections, completing reconciliations, and client training

· Prepare year end compilation engagements

· Prepare personal and corporate tax returns

· Assist with specialized tax and consulting projects

· Communicate with clients via phone and email

· Handle client meetings as needed

· Perform some administrative tasks as needed

· Work as a team player with your manager and colleagues

Qualifications

· University graduate with a degree in accounting or finance

· Interest in the CPA program is an asset

· Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a related accounting position

· Energetic work ethic to maintain a high level of productivity

· Comfortable using technology and learning new programs

· Experience with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Office 365 and CaseWare

· Organized and pays close attention to detail

· Strong writing, listening and speaking skills

· Punctual and dependable

· Commitment to quality and constant improvement, with a willingness to learn and grow

· Ability to work independently in a fast pasted and growing company

· Strong problem solving and time management skills
