Operations & Logistics Support Technician

The position of Operations & Logistics Support Technician is with Fike Canada (onsite), a subsidiary of Fike Corporation headquartered in Blue Springs, Missouri, U.S. Employment for this role will be based in (Ontario) and subject to Canadian employment legislation. This posting is for a full-time existing vacancy, reporting to the Manager, Operations for the operations department.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of routine and repetitive tasks in support of production, logistics and other operations. The Operations & Logistics Support Technician is an introductory position within our manufacturing team, focused on developing the essential skills required for manufacturing operations, safety practices, and compliance with company policies and ISO 9001 requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Finishing and packaging of machined parts.
• Provides logistics and traffic support when required.
• Inspection, cleaning and packaging of parts (clean room).
• Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
• Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility.
• Backs up saw operator when required.
• May do simple machine work.
• May do simple routine maintenance and keep the shop tidy.
• Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
• Follows procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.

Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hand to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Qualifications

Required: Minimum grade 12 education OSSD or equivalent. Ability to read and follow instructions. Intermediate knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office Suite, and proficiency using other software applications, including Adobe and Google Docs.

Preferred: Exposure to machining operations and blue prints.

Working Conditions & Benefits

Hours: This position will be requied to work the following schedule: Monday to Friday and the regular daily work hours will be 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The company may change the hours of work and work scheudle from time to time due to the Compnay demands.

In compliance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and Ontario Regulation 476/24, the expected compensation for this position is: $19.68 CAD - $26.03 CAD.
