POSITION SUMMARY
The Village of Anmore is currently recruiting election officials for general voting day for the General Local Election on Saturday, October 17, 2026.  There will be limited positions available for the advance voting date of October 7, 2026.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The election officials will be responsible to assist and support the administration of voting on general local election day and advance voting opportunity. Under the supervision of the Chief Election Officer, and Deputy Chief Election Officer duties may include:

• Setting up voting place and stations;
• Verifying voter’s name and identity, registering new voters or making changes to voter registration;
• Explaining the voting process and issuing ballots to voters;
• Assisting voters by greeting and directing voters, and providing curbside voting assistance, where needed;
• Serving at the ballot tabulator to assist voters if needed;
• Greet electors and guide them through the polling station; and
• Other duties as assigned.

ELECTION OFFICIALS MUST:

• Be 18 years of age (16 years for greeter position) and be eligible to work within Canada;
• Have reliable transportation to and from polling station;
• Attend a mandatory training session to be scheduled between September 28-October 6;
• Be available to work extended hours on general voting day – October 17, 2026 (estimate of hours is 14 on General Voting Day, but may be slightly less or slightly more) (limited positions available for October 7, 2026, advance voting day, same number of estimated hours);
• Not be related to any candidate running for office, or be actively working for any election campaign, or any candidate including school trustees;
• Be extremely organized and detail oriented;
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time (or stand if greeter or vote tabulating machine attendant);
• Must maintain confidentially of the voting station and all documentation etc. within the polling station;
• Must have legible handwriting; and
• Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills; and have exceptional customer service skills.

Preference will be given to those individuals who have previous experience working in local government elections.

RATE OF PAY: 
$25 per hour for general and advance voting day for the first 8 hours and $37.50 per hour after the first 8 hours and 4% in lieu of benefits. Approximate work hours are between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (or until duties are fulfilled on voting day) plus $40 for the mandatory training session.
