Pinchin is seeking an Indigenous Relations Leader to join our Mining & Natural Resources team in one of our offices in Western Canada. The new role reports to the Director of Mining.

Role Overview:

As an Indigenous Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in strengthening Pinchin’s relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities, organizations, and businesses across Western Canada. Working closely with business development, operational, and technical teams, you will help foster meaningful partnerships, support Indigenous engagement initiatives, and contribute to the growth of Pinchin’s Mining & Natural Resources practice. This position combines relationship building, strategic collaboration, and advisory support to help advance Indigenous participation, reconciliation commitments, and community-focused project delivery while creating long-term value for clients, Indigenous partners, and the communities we serve.

Your Impact:

• Build and maintain respectful, trust-based relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities, leadership, organizations, and Indigenous-owned businesses.


• Represent Pinchin at community meetings, cultural gatherings, conferences, and engagement sessions.


• Guide project teams on Indigenous engagement planning, protocols, cultural awareness, community expectations, and appropriate follow-through.


• Support mining pursuits, proposals, client presentations, and Indigenous participation plans.


• Identify opportunities related to Indigenous procurement, employment, training, education, local service delivery, and project collaboration.


• Coordinate engagement activities with operational, technical, business development, and leadership teams.


• Support Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) certification activities, reconciliation commitments, and internal education and awareness initiatives.


• Maintain accurate records of relationships, engagement activities, commitments, follow-ups, outcomes, risks, and emerging opportunities

What You’ll Bring to Pinchin

• Postsecondary education in Indigenous studies, community development, business, communications, natural resources, public administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous Nations, communities, organizations, or Indigenous-owned businesses.


• Knowledge of Indigenous histories, rights, cultures, governance structures, protocols, and contemporary issues in Canada.


• Demonstrated ability to develop authentic, respectful, and sustained relationships.


• Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.


• Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information and conversations with discretion and respect.


• Experience supporting mining, natural resources, environmental consulting, engineering, or community-based projects would be considered an asset.


• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Western and Northern Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.
