Billing and Payment Specialist

Job Responsibility:

The Meadows of Aurora ( is a one-of-a-kind Christian Adult Lifestyle Community located thirty minutes north of Toronto in the Town of Aurora. We offer 55+ adults three lifestyle choices - independent living, assisted living and memory care. Our resort style campus sits on 25 acres with over half protected forest. We change the way 55+ adults think about retirement living.

Purpose: The purpose of this role is to generate timely and accurate monthly billings to residents that include standard fees and pay-per-use charges, ensure resident payments are obtained in a timely manner, and maintain accurate resident data in our enterprise system (Yardi) to support a smooth and efficient billing and payment process.

Reporting to: Director of Finance

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a high volume computerized transactional environment such as an order processing department, billing department, accounts receivable role, or accounts payable position.

· The ability to identify and implement improvements to our billing and payment process.

· Previous experience working in a similar position.

· Excellent written and verbal English skills for interacting with our community of 55+ residents and family representatives.

· Experienced in the use of Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, and other standard workplace tools.

Responsibilities:

· Work with the Resident Support Director to ensure data for new and departing residents is updated in Yardi prior to each monthly billing.

· Work with the Supportive Living Specialist to ensure data for new and departing assisted living and memory care residents is updated in Yardi prior to each monthly billing.

· Ensure the correct occupancy, amenity, communications, and care rates are applied to each resident billing.

· Be the primary point of contact and resolution for residents and/or their authorized representatives on all billing related questions and concerns.

· Be able and willing to represent our corporate and community faith-based values with the utmost level of professionalism.

· Be able to demonstrates patience and compassion when interacting with our aging resident population.

· Serve as a backup for other finance processing functions including accounts payable, payroll, and investor list management.

· Other finance projects and work as assigned based on the incumbent's capacity to handle additional activity and business priorities.

A requirement for all individuals who work at The Meadows of Aurora and support our 55+ community include:

• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required.
• A two-step TB test that can be arranged through your family doctor or many pharmacies.
• A Vulnerable Sector Check that can be obtained through designated Police locations.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
