Project Geologist

The Opportunity:

As a Project Geologist, you have an opportunity to be a key player in a dynamic and collaborative team of professionals focused on optimizing and expanding production. Working with exploration, exploitation, production, and other company professionals, you will use your proven experience to provide integrated geologic interpretations and operational support in order to add value to current and future developments.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and deadline driven with a positive attitude towards a high volume of work. They will be able to produce high quality interpretations in a short period of time. Preference will be given to those with the experience and flexibility to transition between project and area roles as circumstances require. Candidates should be energetic self-starters who enjoy challenge, accountability, and must be able to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Accountabilities:

• Work in a team environment on defined mapping projects to identify opportunities in areas with growth potential.
• Create high quality geologic interpretations by working with other geologists, geophysicists, and petrophysicists.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to assist with planning and execution of large horizontal well drilling programs.
• Integrate geologic data with production to identify optimization/workover opportunities.

• Shift schedule: 5x2 - Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Skills & Qualifications:

• Petroleum geology experience with a minimum Bachelor of Science in Geology.
• Demonstrated problem solving, communication, organization, and team leadership skills.
• Registered with APEGA as a Geologist in Training or Professional Geoscientist.
• Preference will be given to those registered. If not yet registered, applicants are expected to have registration in progress.
• Good understanding of Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin stratigraphy and clastic depositional environments.
• Fluency in software such as AccuMap, GeoGraphix, Petrel, Power BI, StarSteer, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with horizontal well planning/drilling.
