Grocery clerk

Fairway Market, situated in Victoria, BC V9A 1M7, is currently looking for applications for the role of Grocery clerk, who is a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The selected candidate must start work promptly. The available positions are for Permanent employment or full-time jobs. The candidate must be available to work morning, day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends, on a shift basis, with flexible hours and overtime.

• The candidate must bag, box, or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery.
• The candidate will be responsible for carrying customer purchases to the parking lot and packing orders into customers’ vehicles.
• The candidate will be responsible for obtaining items from the stockroom or shelves for customers.
• The candidate must direct customers to the location of the desired articles.
• The candidate must unpack products received from the store and count, weigh, or sort items.
• The candidate will be responsible for recording incoming stock.
• The candidate must stock shelves and display areas.
• The candidate must maintain a clean and orderly stock.
• The candidate must perform general cleaning duties (such as sweeping and mopping floors).
• The candidate must be able to operate a cash register.
• The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The employer will provide training to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
