We are a warm, respectful Edmonton family looking for a caring and reliable part-time nanny to join us starting in August. We have two young children, an infant and a preschooler, and are hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys engaging children through play, learning, outdoor time, and everyday routines. Mom works from home will often be present in the home. However, will unavailable during parts of the day. We are looking for someone confident, independent, and comfortable taking the lead with childcare during working hours. We also share our home with a friendly cat and a small dog. Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Approximately 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (20–25 hours/week, flexible)
• Start date: August

Children

• Infant (1 year old)
• Preschool-aged child (attends school Monday–Thursday, returning around 2:30 PM, unless school closure or illness)

Our infant typically naps for 2 hours during the midday period, and there are quieter parts of the day when the preschooler is at school. During these times, there may be opportunities to assist with household tasks as outlined below. Primary Responsibilities (Childcare First) Childcare is always the primary responsibility and focus of this role, including:

• Engaging both children in play, learning, and outdoor activities
• Supporting daily routines and transitions
• Preparing simple snacks and supporting mealtimes
• Infant care, including nap routines and responding if the baby wakes
• Preschool pick-up from the bus and after-school care
• Full care during illness, school closures, or changes in routine
• Maintaining general tidiness related to toys, meals, and daily activities

Household Support (Secondary & Conditional) Household tasks are secondary and only requested when both children are independently occupied (for example, infant napping and preschooler at school). During those times, support may include:

• Vacuuming and mopping kitchen areas
• Cleaning bathrooms
• General tidying and resetting common areas
• Light household organization

At all other times, the focus is fully on childcare and child-related responsibilities. Additional Details

• Mom works from home but may be unavailable during meetings
• Comfortable working in a home with pets (cat and small dog)
• Occasional letting the dog into the backyard as needed
• ASL knowledge is considered an asset

Qualifications

• Current First Aid & CPR certification (required)
• Experience caring for infants and young children
• Reliable, nurturing, and proactive personality
• Comfortable working in a home where a parent is present but intermittently unavailable
• Strong interest in engaging, developmentally appropriate play
• Long-term fit preferred
