Scotia McLeod Wealth Advisor Development Program

Start Date: January 4, 2027

At Scotia McLeod, Wealth Advisors help high-net-worth clients achieve their financial goals through trusted advice and personalized wealth management solutions. By developing long-term relationships, our advisors provide strategic guidance tailored to each client's evolving needs.

The Wealth Advisor Development Program (WADP) is designed to support advisor succession planning, grow the next generation of Wealth Advisors, and ensure clients continue to receive exceptional advice and service. Offered twice annually, this three-month development program combines facilitator-led training with self-directed learning to build the skills, knowledge, and confidence required for success in wealth management.

What You'll Do

As a participant in the WADP, you will:

• Develop your expertise in client engagement, communication, professional presence, and discovery conversations.

• Apply strategic wealth management concepts to support client planning and business development activities.

• Build the skills and mindset required to grow and manage a successful advisory practice.

• Strengthen your ability to establish and maintain meaningful client relationships.

• Contribute to the success of your team while upholding Scotia McLeod's values and commitment to client service.

What You Bring

• 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience and/or a post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.

• A strong interest in wealth management and client relationship building.

• Experience in a sales, business development, or client-facing environment.

• An entrepreneurial, results-oriented mindset with a desire to build a book of business.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Previous experience in financial services, sales, or a related profession is considered an asset.

Required Qualifications

Prerequisite (required before hire):

• Completion of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE).

• Completion of the CIRO Retail Securities Exam.

Required following hire:

• Successful completion of the CIRO Conduct Training Course within four months of hire.

• Insurance licence obtained within 12 months of hire.

All licensing, registration, and educational requirements must be completed and reported through Registrations no later than December 31, 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional designations such as CFP®, QAFP™, CFA®, CPA®, or equivalent.

• Fluency in a second language aligned to target client markets.
