TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Intermediate Material Handling Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.


Responsibilities:

• Support design coordination activities by communicating technical information and incorporating feedback from stakeholders, fabricators, and project teams.
• Assist in the design and arrangement of mechanical systems by considering equipment functionality, process requirements, and site constraints.
• Produce accurate 2D fabrication and construction drawings from 3D models, ensuring appropriate dimensions, annotations, and drafting standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting quality, design efficiency, and engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to support equipment layout development, ensuring practical installation, operation, and maintenance access.
• Review and update design documentation throughout project lifecycles to maintain accuracy and consistency with project requirements.
• Develop detailed 3D mechanical models for fabricated equipment, structural components, and material-handling systems.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings.
• Strong understanding of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and technical drafting practices.
• Experience with SolidWorks, SP3D, MicroStation, or similar design platforms is an asset.
• Knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing, conveyors, or material handling systems is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with remote and local teams.
