ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Clerk is responsible for receiving and processing wound, ostomy and continence referrals, maintaining records, assigning initial assessments and booking clients according to the criteria as determined by the specialty service Registered Nurses in the Wound Services Program. This position requires a system-wide orientation as clients may be booked with agencies other than St. Joseph’s Care Group. The Clerk is also responsible for booking follow up appointments for the Wound Services Program.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Diploma in office administration or related administrative program
- Previous clerical experience booking appointments for the Wound Services Program is preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Must be at a basic skill level in word processing and spreadsheet software; must be proficient in data entry with the ability to maintain a high degree of speed and accuracy
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job
- Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Asset:
- Completion of a medical terminology course an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
