Overview
Quantum Technology is a global leader in specialized industrial gas applications, particularly Helium and Hydrogen. For 40+ years we have been manufacturing premium Helium and Hydrogen liquefaction units, recovery systems and He production plants. We produce standard and custom solutions for any gas recovery, separation, purification and liquefaction.
Job Duties
- Process Design: Develop detailed designs for process piping systems, ensuring they meet functional and safety requirements for chemical processes.
- Engineering Analysis: Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate design specifications and optimize process performance.
- Design Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and detailed piping layouts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with process engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions are integrated and aligned with project objectives.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API).
- Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the development and testing of prototypes to validate design performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to enhance design processes and improve efficiency.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification or equivalent is preferred.
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process design, with a strong focus on process piping design for chemical or industrial processes.
- Proficiency in process design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, Aspen HYSYS).
- Strong understanding of process piping standards, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with engineering calculations and simulations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality and safe design solutions.
