Messe Duesseldorf (Can) is a commercial department of the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce Inc. (CGCIC) which has held the mandate to represent Messe Duesseldorf GmbH, the fifth largest organizer of trade shows in the world, in Canada. Out of roughly 44 shows in the Duesseldorf portfolio, 23 show are global lead shows. Only two of the 44 shows are consumer shows, with the remainder being B-2-B shows mainly in the machinery sector, but also in the medical, wine and retail technology fields.

CGCIC promotes bilateral economic relations between Canada and Germany and is recognized as an official German Chamber of Commerce Abroad (AHK) by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) in Berlin. The CGCIC is a non-profit organization located in Toronto, ON, with a total headcount of 20 employees.

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is the exhibitor acquisition, support, and identification of potential exhibitors from Canada for Messe Duesseldorf trade show in Germany and around the world.

The candidate acts as a marketing/sales driven point of contact and ensures a continuous flow of information to (potential) exhibitors and visitors of the Messe Duesseldorf shows. The candidate is also closely cooperating with industry associations, trade press publications, federal and provincial governments as well as other economic development bodies.

Your Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Project management of marketing activities including initiating, planning, and executing, in the following areas:

· Exhibitor/visitor promotions: identification of potential exhibitors/visitors, outreach, and support by E-mail AND phone

· Organization of trade fair participations including pavilions (group participations)

· Developing specific knowledge within the key industries of Messe Duesseldorf shows

· Close cooperation with industry associations and with various levels of government and economic development agencies

· Relationship management with the trade press to create awareness and advertising plans

· Developing specific knowledge within the key industries of Messe Duesseldorf shows

· Maintaining a database

Your Profile

• Fluent in English, German is considered a strong asset
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business or Marketing
• Minimum of three years experience in Sales & Marketing, Project Management, Business Development, previous experience in the trade fair industry is an asset
• Superior writing, editing, research and communications skills in both English and German
• Team player who excels at delivering high-quality work, a positive attitude, creativity, and attention to detail

· Excellent ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines with little supervision,

· Interpersonal skills:

· Highly self-motivated, positive presence, confident, service-oriented

• Hands-on-mentality

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, experience with ACT/Adobe Acrobat is an asset
