ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) to provide expert assessment, treatment, and ongoing management for clients with wounds, ostomy or continence concerns. This role involves delivering individualized wound care plans that may include patient education and counseling, pressure relief strategies, compression therapy, skin conditioning, and follow-up care. The ideal candidate will employ evidence-based practices to promote healing, prevent complications, and support client comfort and recovery.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO)
• Wound Ostomy Continence Certified (Canada) or Master of Clinical Science-Wound Healing 
• Minimum two (2) years of experience working in the area of wound, ostomy and continence care considered an asset

Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the assessment and management of clients with wounds ostomies and urinary incontinence
• Demonstrated ability to manage workload and adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Basic understanding of the field of virtual care, or a willingness to learn
• Superior organizational skills and ability to set priorities
• Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong individual care plan development and health teaching skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory  Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)  where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
