Full time permanent 1.0 FTE Foot Care Nurse RPN (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario)

Description

The Niagara North Family Health Team (Niagara-on-the-Lake) is looking for a creative, innovative and highly motivated Foot Care Nurse (RPN) with an interest in wound care, and other office procedures (Cervical Cancer Screening, Injections, etc). This individual will provide basic foot care, wound care and other services to clients of the FHT in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary care team. The successful candidate will work closely with all ongoing programs particularly our Diabetes Education Program and Chiropody.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse with at least one recognized course in basic foot care within the last two years.
• Current Certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario – must provide evidence of personal liability insurance
• Strong clinical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to problem solve and think critically
• Proficient in the use of computer and information technology, experience with electronic health records an asset.
• Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in a very active work environment
• Must be willing to enroll in an Advanced Foot Care course
• Ability and willingness to conduct patient assessments in the home.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a busy multidisciplinary team
• Interest in research and teaching of learners

Compensation

• Salary is commensurate with the Ontario Health compensation grid
