Worship Ministry Director

Ebenezer Baptist Church (EBC) in Saskatoon, SK is currently seeking for a relational, godly and musically talented, half-time Worship Ministry Director (Depending on other qualifications, skills and experience, more than ½-time could be considered) to lead and develop a dynamic, Christ-centered worship ministry that aligns with the church's mission to glorify God and make disciples.

Our mission as a church is to point people to Jesus and help them to know and follow him.

Our vision is to establish and multiply multi-ethnic and multi-generational gatherings of Jesus followers who practically and authentically live their faith in every part of their lives and challenge others to do the same. We do this through a process called discipleship . We define a disciple as someone who abides in Christ and takes on the character, ways, and mission of Jesus and helps others to do the same.

We are a community minded, outreach focused and forward-thinking church that actively seeks the Lord in prayer for spiritual discernment and ministry direction. We place a high value on family and on team ministry. We are a well-established, multiethnic, multi-generational and growing church body.

Candidates must have godly character, be relationally mature, able to lead others with confidence, and be musically competent and confident. They should be able and comfortable connecting with volunteers to mentor and develop worship team members and fostering a culture of spiritual growth and musical creativity and excellence.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and savior.

• Character qualities of a biblical elder as described in first Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9.

• Love for the word of God and a devotion to prayer.

• Demonstrate spiritual aptitude in hearing and following God's promptings.

• Be a collaborative team player with a servant heart.

• Demonstrate success in sharing the good news of Jesus and bearing spiritual fruit.

• Bible school or seminary training is preferred, but not necessary (a combination of education and experience will be considered).

• Alignment with the mission, values, and statement of faith of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

• Agrees with the statement of faith, our positional statements on Gender & Sexuality, as well as Marriage shared by Ebenezer Baptist and the Baptist General Conference of Canada (BGCC).

The Worship Ministry Director will lead and develop a dynamic, Christ-centered worship ministry that aligns with the church's mission to glorify God and make disciples. The position would include overseeing and coordinating all aspects of worship services, ensuring they are spiritually enriching and engaging for the congregation.

The Director is responsible to provide spiritual direction to other worship leaders and teams, recruit volunteers, form and schedule worship teams, and to lead worship.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and lead weekly worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor & Team, incorporating both traditional and contemporary elements.

• Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members, including vocalists, instrumentalists, and technical volunteers.

• Develop and maintain a rotation schedule for worship team members.

• Oversee the selection of music, ensuring theological soundness and alignment with the church's values.

• Attend our weekly staff meeting and work as a member of the EBC Staff team in a way that reflects the Ministry’s objectives and the philosophy of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

• Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.

• Coordinate with the media/tech team to ensure seamless integration of audio, video, and lighting during services.

• Plan and lead special worship events, such as Celebration Service, Christmas Eve Services, Good Friday & Easter Sunday, and other church-wide gatherings (3-5 church-wide gatherings).

• Coordinate volunteers to lead worship in the Kid’s Ministry on Sunday mornings.

• Manage the worship ministry budget and track expenditures within the approved budget.

Ebenezer Baptist Church is a vibrant and growing church with a rich history of ministry. Our average weekly attendance is approximately 900-1100 with a median age of about 35. We are especially blessed to have many young families, college students, young people and children who call Ebenezer their home. Including in-person and our online community, we have approximately 1300 people in our church family.

We highly value our local community and have been an active participant in it. We also are committed to reaching the nations in Saskatoon and have four partner congregations (Arabic, Korean, Nepali, and the House for All Nations) and a growing Ukrainian community.
