Scrum Master

A career as a Scrum Master within the Horizon team of the Big Data & Analytics sector at National Bank means acting as both a delivery facilitator and a strategic execution partner. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the sector’s delivery capabilities by leveraging your expertise in agile coordination, program management, analytical technologies, artificial intelligence, and process optimization.

You will serve as the primary support to the Program Director, helping bridge the gap between strategic objectives and their successful execution. Through your technical credibility and ability to align multiple teams around shared goals, you will help accelerate the delivery of strategic initiatives and drive the adoption of new ways of working.

Your job

• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and support program leadership in planning, tracking, and orchestrating strategic work.
• Translate strategic directions into concrete, measurable actions and ensure their effective follow-through to achieve program objectives.
• Support two agile teams as a Scrum Master by facilitating ceremonies, enabling delivery, and fostering continuous improvement.
• Manage capacity planning, priorities, timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure alignment among business, technology, and governance stakeholders.
• Identify and remove operational inefficiencies that hinder team performance and delivery capabilities.
• Drive acceleration initiatives through artificial intelligence, automation, standardization, reuse of analytical assets, and the adoption of tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Your Team

Within the Big Data & Analytics sector, part of the Corporate Functions, Data and Operational Risk Vice-Presidency, a team of specialists works in an agile, proactive, and collaborative environment to seize opportunities, stay at the forefront of technology, and continuously improve processes. This position reports to the Director, Analytical Assets.

You will be part of a team dedicated to the evolution and enhancement of the organization’s analytical assets. You will collaborate with program leaders, technology teams, data specialists, and business partners to accelerate the delivery of strategic priorities. Prerequisites

• Significant experience in technical coordination, program management, project management, or agile coordination within a complex technology environment.
• Strong technical credibility with the ability to understand delivery challenges and translate business and technology needs into actionable plans.
• Solid understanding of analytical platforms, data products, or data ecosystems such as SAS Viya, Horizon, Snowflake ML, or similar technologies.
• Experience working in a scaled Agile environment, particularly as a Scrum Master, within a SAFe, Release Train Engineer (RTE), or multi-team coordination context.
• Experience with capacity planning, prioritization, risk and dependency management, delivery governance, or coordination of funded initiatives.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, standardization, and the use of productivity-enhancing tools such as GitHub Copilot.
