Eligibility

• Experience working in a clinical setting, retail sales or customer service environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and related software.
• Experience working in a medical clinic or hospital is a significant asset.

Equinox Health is a Medical Clinic in Whitehorse that opened April 2025, housing Family Physicians, Allied Health providers and the Solstice Maternity clinic. The clinic is staffed by 11 long time Yukon doctors who have relocated their established practices to this new location.

Equinox Health is seeking a dedicated team of Medical Office Assistants to keep the day-to-day operations of our clinic running smoothly. Reporting to the Medical Clinic Manager and Physician Executive, our MOAs will also work closely with physicians and allied health workers. Medical Office Assistants also have close contact with patients, ensuring their care needs are met with compassion, empathy and support.

The duties of a Medical Office Assistant include:

• Support physicians with patient care coordination
• Assist physicians to maintain smooth clinic workflow
• Schedule appointments, greet patients, and address their inquiries
• Manage and file confidential medical records using Electronic Medical Record software
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality when interacting with patients and their health records
• Liaise with other medical offices and medical services
• Answer phones, send/answer faxes and emails
• Assist physicians with patient exams if required
• Perform office-based laboratory testing as delegated by physicians
• Sterilize and prepare procedural equipment in accordance with rigorous safety protocols
• Basic cleaning and stocking tasks

Conditions of Employment:

• Valid Driver’s License or alternate means of transportation for clinic business when required
• Criminal Record Check
• Compliance with Public Health Mandates that may affect the clinic and its staff
