Journeyman HVAC/R Technician (Calgary)

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman HVAC/R Technician to join our ATCO Facility Solution team in Calgary, AB. The Journeyman HVAC Technician is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation and dismantling of systems. Work may also include projects within the trade to install, maintain, repair and overhaul central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems. Wage: $60/hour Responsibilities

Completes timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects/deficiencies. Performs scheduled maintenance service on HVAC and Refrigeration systems and fixtures. Maintains accurate documentation of work completed and materials used. Assists with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects. Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met. Ensures compliance with building codes, safety regulations and company standards. Ensures all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements. Installs HVAC systems in accordance with construction plans and specifications. Assists in planning material needs and coordinating deliveries. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Journeyman Certified HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic (Red Seal) is required. Must have a strong construction background, with hands‑on experience in installation, commissioning and field execution. Must be willing and able to travel to True North locations, including but not limited to Eureka, Nunavut, with deployments up to four weeks. Must be able to pass an extensive background check and obtain Government Security Clearance. Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract are required. Residential and commercial experience is an asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team setting. Strong commitment to personal and team safety. Willing and able to travel. This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require completion of a pre‑employment alcohol & drug test, fit to work medical test, background check, and security clearance.
