About the Role
Hy-Grade Millwork is looking for a skilled Custom Builder/Cabinetmaker to join our team producing high-quality architectural woodwork and custom cabinetry for residential and commercial projects. We welcome applicants at all experience levels — from apprentices looking to grow their skills to experienced journeymen ready to take on complex builds.
What You’ll Do
Build, assemble, and finish custom cabinetry and architectural millwork from shop drawings and specifications
Fabricate countertops from plastic laminate and solid surface materials
Build reception desks and other custom casework from shop drawings
Construct wall panels and other complex architectural woodwork builds
Operate woodworking machinery and tools safely and accurately (table saws, panel saws, edgebanders, etc.)
Read and interpret blueprints, cut lists, and technical drawings
Fit and install components with precision, ensuring tight tolerances and a high-quality finish
Work collaboratively with the shop team to meet production schedules and quality standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
What We’re Looking For
Experience in cabinetmaking, millwork, or a related woodworking trade is an asset — willingness to learn and strong attention to detail matter most
Experience with plastic laminate and/or solid surface countertop fabrication is a plus
Ability to read shop drawings and work to precise measurements
Comfort operating standard shop machinery (training provided where needed)
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first attitude
Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
