Applied Physics AI Training Specialist

Apply advanced physics expertise to AI training as a fully remote Applied Physics Specialist with Alignerr. Audit models against fundamental laws and first principles.
This hourly contract suits PhD-level Applied Physicists, Physics specialists, and Engineering Physicists. You will design rigorous problems, author benchmark solutions, and evaluate AI reasoning across quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and core physics. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design PhD-level physics problems requiring multi-step reasoning
- Write rigorous solutions with accurate constants and unit conversions
- Audit AI proofs, derivations, and simulations for physical consistency
- Provide structured feedback on physics-informed model behaviour
- Document recurring AI reasoning failure modes systematically
Requirements:
- PhD-level expertise in Applied Physics or related fields
- Mastery of mechanics, electrodynamics, statistical, and quantum physics
- Exceptional analytical writing explaining derivations clearly
- Precision with units, scientific notation, and logical flow
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
