Field Technician HET On-Road (Journeyperson)

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Schedule: 10+ Hours per day, 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Requirements:

Full Complement of Hand Tools
Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Valid Driver’s License

Pre-employment:

Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Fitness to Work Assessment

Field Technician HET On-Road Qualifications:

Must be a Journeyperson HET (Truck and Transport)
Experience working on heavy truck and trailers
Engine Rebuild and Performance Software Experience is Required
CVIP Certification is Beneficial
Power Train Experience is Beneficial
Experience with Electronics and Emissions is Beneficial
Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

Field Technician HET On-Road Responsibilities:

Work out of a service truck to support field maintenance
Has the ability to work on call for road emergencies at night and/or weekends
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
