General Summary

AI is revolutionizing how we solve complex, cross-domain challenges—and Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI is at the forefront of this transformation. As part of the AI Software team, you will contribute to the development of the Qualcomm AI Engine Direct, empowering OEMs and developers to deploy advanced deep neural networks (DNNs) on cutting‑edge Qualcomm Hexagon Processors.

In this role, your focus will be on integrating GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities into our on‑device AI stack, enabling real‑time, high‑performance inference across diverse platforms—from smartphones and automotive systems to smart appliances. You will collaborate with OEMs and developers to optimize GenAI‑powered models for the Qualcomm AI Stack, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance software solutions that extend GenAI capabilities across customer use cases.
• Optimize GenAI model execution on‑device, leveraging Hexagon DSPs for efficient inference and minimal latency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GenAI features.
• Contribute to the development of GenAI-enhanced workflows for chip design and system optimization.

Duties

• Development of modern C++17 software library for Qualcomm Hexagon Processors.
• Design and performance tune modern C++17 code for an embedded system.
• Development of model analyzing tools for the internal and external customers.
• Use cross compiler toolchains for embedded systems such as Android, embedded Linux, Windows on Snapdragon and QNX.
• Address issues found in existing and past Qualcomm AI products.
• Implement and optimize modern C++17 machine learning operations on Hexagon Processors.
• Communication across globally diverse team.
• Participate in software quality process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with modern C++17 language features.
• Background in mathematical algorithms using fast math libraries and vector instruction sets.
• Practical experience with developing middleware or firmware software.
• Experience with multitasking and multithreading driver development.
• Experience with Hexagon DSP SDK or cross compiler toolchains for embedded systems and JIT technologies.
• Experience with different NN architectures DNNs, CNNs, RNNs/LSTMs, GANs, LLMs, etc.
• Experience with low level interactions between operating systems and hardware.
• Experience with Qualcomm FastRPC and Windows MCDM drivers.
• Experience using/integrating Qualcomm AI Stack products (e.g., QNN, SNPE, QAIRT).
• Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch or ONNX.
• Experience with tools such as git, Linux, JIRA and Docker.
• Knowledge of object oriented programming design patterns.
• Ability to collaborate across a globally diverse team.

Education Requirements

• Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $114,400.00 – $164,400.00. In addition to base salary, the role offers a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for annual RSU grants. Benefits include a comprehensive package designed to support success at work, at home, and in play.
