Away We Grow Child Care Centre is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Director
to support the Centre Director in the daily operations of our licensed child care facility. This
leadership role is well suited for an experienced early childhood professional who is
committed to high-quality care, staff collaboration, and positive relationships with children
and families.
Role Summary
The Assistant Director supports the Centre Director in the daily operation of the child care
centre. This role provides leadership to staff, assists with administrative duties, and ensures
continuity of operations. The Assistant Director assumes responsibility for the centre in the
Directors absence.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily centre operations to ensure consistency and compliance with licensing
requirements
Assume Director responsibilities when the Director is absent or unavailable
Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to educators
Assist with staff orientation, training, scheduling, and supervision
Support performance monitoring and contribute to staff evaluations
Help monitor program quality and classroom environments
Communicate daily information to parents and caregivers as required
Assist with coordinating schedules, supplies, and daily centre logistics
Requirements
ECE Level 3 certification, or
ECE Level 2 certification with willingness to enroll in ECE Level 3 courses
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
