Associate CPA

Jason Heinmiller, Chartered Professional Accountant is a CPA firm located in Melville, SK. The firm offers business and agricultural clients accounting and tax services. We are currently seeking a Chartered Professional Accountant to fill an Associate position. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite at our office in Melville, SK, as this position does not support remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the completion of tax engagements and the preparation of tax returns (and other compliance filings)
Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency on client issues
Assist in the management of a portfolio of clients
Apply knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to clients' business.
Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, including development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
Mentor, motivate and coach team members by setting clear expectations and providing feedback
Collaborate with other team members on file planning and completion within time constraints

What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

CPA designation with a Compilation Licence
6+ years of experience in public practice
Strong understanding of Canadian Tax
Experience reviewing files prepared by other team members
Knowledge of farming is an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organizational skills
Systems thinker, able to see how parts fit into a whole
Motivation to learn and develop new skills, as well as the willingness and ability to teach others
High professional and ethical standards
