Position Overview:

Leads the global Drug Product supply strategy for diagnostic radiotracers enabling development and commercialization of therapeutic medicines. The role is responsible for defining the supply strategy that connects the clinical trial design with radiotracer availability (geography and manufacturing capacity). Accountable for capacity planning, network expansion, supply risk and continuity, cost-of-goods, and reliable dose fulfillment across geographies, in partnership with Manufacturing Operations teams, CDDA, the Therapeutic Area Business Units, Procurement, Quality, and external partners.

Primary Responsibilities

• Define and own the global radiotracer supply strategy and ensure the strategy meets the needs for clinical trial and commercial endeavors in collaboration with Clinical Design, Delivery, & Analytics (CDDA) and the Therapeutic Area Business Units as applicable.
• Set the multi-year strategy for expanding global radiotracer manufacturing capacity across CMOs and radiopharmacies, balancing demand, cost, geographic coverage, and supply risk.
• Partner with digital and data teams to embed AI-enabled capabilities (for example, scenario planning, supplier performance analytics, and early-warning risk signals) into supply strategy and governance processes.
• Establish supply governance and proactively communicate radiotracer supply status and changes in supply (including risks and mitigation plans) within radiopharm and PRD leadership and other stakeholder groups (e.g CDDA and the Therapeutic Area Business Units) as needed.
• Build and sustain strategic relationships with CDDA and Therapeutic Area Business Unit leadership, partnering early in program planning to align on supply priorities, trade-offs, and timelines.
• Evaluate the radiotracer environment in geographies of interest to understand capacity, regulatory and licensing requirements, transport constraints, and partnership opportunities.
• Navigate regional regulatory, radioactive material licensing, import/export, and transport requirements to enable reliable supply in new geographies.
• Lead, develop, and build the capabilities of the supply strategy organization across sites, geographies, and time zones.
• Identify new potential CMOs, manufacturing sites and / or radiopharmacies with capacity to manufacture and/or prepare diagnostic radiotracer(s) in geographies of interest as needed to support demand.
• Define the business requirements CMO or radiopharmacy supply agreements and/or Third Party Organization Sponsors and approve the business case for selection and contract terms, working with Procurement to lead sourcing and negotiation and with Quality and Legal on quality agreements and contractual terms
• Own supply risk management and business continuity planning for final Drug Product, including single-source exposure, and contingency plans where a site disruption can directly affect patients and trial timelines.
• Develop radiotracer supply budgets and approve supplier invoices for payment within delegated financial authority
• Monitor the execution of the supply strategy and supply chain budget, including cost-of-goods targets for clinical and commercial supply.
• Serve as a key liaison between CDDA, Therapeutic Area Business Units, and Business Development and supply chain management teams, and manufacturing operations teams.
• Serve as liaison to Third Party Organization sponsors interested in sourcing Lilly radiotracers for clinical trials to ensure understanding of radiopharmaceutical supply chain, set appropriate expectations and drive positive customer experiences
• Direct the fulfillment of requests for clinical trial and research study doses to ensure customer expectations are met
• Engage external partners across the radiotracer ecosystem, including isotope and material suppliers, CDMO / radiopharmacy networks, CROs, and academic imaging sites, to secure supply and anticipate constraints.
• Represent Lilly in nuclear medicine trade associations and industry forums as needed, and help shape external positioning on radiopharmaceutical supply, regulatory, and licensing topics as needed.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or operational business discipline with 10+ years of experience (OR Master's + 7 or PhD + 5-I'll write this out more clearly)
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably within CMC supply chain, supply planning or manufacturing
• Solid understanding of GMP manufacturing and regulatory requirements
• Proven experience in strategic planning, implementation and optimization
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships across internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to influence others, negotiate, delegate and affect change as an individual contributor
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Impeccable organizational skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills

Additional Preferences

• Positron Emission Tomography (PET) drug experience preferred
• PET drug supply planning experience preferred
• Experience working with radiopharmaceuticals
• Previous direct or indirect leadership experience is preferred
• Project management, including budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation and timeline management is helpful
• Creative thinking and ability to cultivate innovation
• Ability to lead adoption of AI or data driven approached in supply chain, manufacturing, or operations with sound judgement on appropriate use and validation

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $166,500 - $244,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
