Direct Response Video Editor

As a Direct Response Video Editor, you will primarily produce compelling short-form video ads for paid social platforms while also creating effective static ad creatives to support rapid testing. You will transform user-generated content, testimonials, product demonstrations, and founder-led footage into conversion-focused advertising assets. Working closely with growth specialists and creative strategists, you will develop new hooks, messaging angles, and calls to action to help identify winning concepts. You will also leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate ideation, editing, and production without compromising effectiveness. This role is ideal for a versatile, performance-minded creative who thrives on speed, continuous iteration, and measurable impact. Accountabilities - Direct response video editing: Produce short-form advertising videos for Meta, TikTok, and other paid social platforms, prioritizing engagement and conversion. - Creative production: Edit user-generated content, testimonials, product demonstrations, and founder-led videos into compelling, audience-focused ads. - Creative testing and iteration: Develop multiple variations of hooks, calls to action, messaging angles, and video concepts to support ongoing performance testing. - AI-assisted workflows: Use tools such as ChatGPT, Runway, Pika, and Descript to accelerate ideation, scripting, editing, and content production. - Scriptwriting and ad copy: Write or adapt scripts and advertising copy to communicate product benefits, strengthen messaging, and encourage action.

- Static ad design: Create high-converting static creatives for paid social campaigns, adapting layouts, headlines, and offers to generate multiple testable variations. - Creative systems and templates: Use established templates, creative production systems, and inspiration libraries to produce consistent, on-brand assets efficiently. - Asset sourcing and organization: Gather, organize, and manage user-generated content, stock footage, B-roll, hooks, and other creative materials. - Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with strategists and growth teams to execute creative concepts aligned with campaign objectives and performance goals. - Performance-driven improvement: Incorporate feedback and available campaign insights to refine creatives, improve production efficiency, and maintain a consistent volume of deliverables. - Project ownership: Manage multiple creative assignments, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines. Requirements - Professional experience: At least two years of experience editing direct response video advertisements for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands. - Video editing portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating paid social video advertising, creative versatility, and performance-oriented storytelling. - Static advertising experience: Practical experience designing static ad creatives for Meta advertising campaigns. - Editing software: Proficiency with at least one professional or widely used editing tool, such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Adobe After Effects. - Design skills: Working knowledge of Photoshop and the ability to create clear, visually effective static advertising assets. - Performance marketing knowledge: Strong understanding of hooks, calls to action, creative angles, and the principles behind conversion-focused advertising. - Copywriting ability: Experience writing, adapting, or refining scripts and copy for advertising creatives.
