Student Law Intern - Law Firm

Are you a student with a strong interest in law and looking to gain real-world experience in a legal environment FWCanada, a Canadian immigration law firm based inMontreal, is currently seeking interns to join our team this FALL 2026 semester , with the opportunity to continue through the WINTER 2027 semester.

This is a unique chance to contribute meaningfully to client files, learn about Canadian immigration procedures, and gain exposure to a fast-paced, non-traditional law firm setting.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Support

• Assist lawyers and paralegals with legal research, document preparation, and case file management
• Draft supporting documents for immigration applications and compile submissions to government authorities
• Help maintain organized and up-to-date client files

Client Engagement

• Participate in client intake by phone and email
• Help pre-qualify prospective clients based on their eligibility under Canadian immigration law
• Liaise with clients to gather documentation and clarify application requirements
• Communicate updates to clients under supervision of legal staff

Qualifications

• Open to students from any academic background with a strong interest in law
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Professional phone manner and confidence interacting with clients
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Interest in Canadian immigration law is an asset

Internship Details

• Unpaid internship (may be eligible for academic credit)
• 2-3 weekdays per week (Montreal office)
• Immediate start , with potential to continue into future semesters
• May lead to a paid position based on performance and business needs
