We currently have an opening for a DOCK LEAD HAND for our afternoon shift in our Mississauga Terminal. This is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm.
***Other employers refer to this role as Lead Hand, Dock Supervisor, Warehouse Lead Hand, Warehouse Supervisor***
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the movement and handling of customer orders; ensuring freight is handled according to company standards
- Organizing and planning the GX Dock team operators to maximize productivity of resources
- Ensure general maintenance and housekeeping is being performed; initiate repair requests; ensure dock is cleaned and kept free of debris
- Complete nightly dock checks
- Report any OS&D
- All activities are done with a safety focus!
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of previously related experience in a similar role
- Experience in a warehouse/cross dock environment
- Valid Fork Lift Certification
- Hazardous Materials Certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, TruckMate (TMW), Peoplenet
