Job Summary

The Login Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving, logging, and preparing samples for laboratory analysis. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and traceability of all incoming samples.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and unpack incoming samples, verifying contents against accompanying documentation.
• Accurately log sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) according to established procedures.
• Assign unique identification numbers to samples and labels them correctly.
• Prepare samples for various analytical departments, including sorting, aliquoting, and distribution.
• Ensure all sample handling and storage procedures adhere to quality and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding sample status and discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a laboratory or data entry role is an asset.
• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly data entry and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 20 lbs.
• Familiarity with LIMS is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols is an asset.

• An estimated hourly pay of $19.82 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
